Marilyn B. and Mark E. Gustafson Center for Supportive Care Is Nearing Completion

Construction on the Marilyn B. and Mark E. Gustafson Center for Supportive Care is expected to be completed during the spring of 2022. The center will allow Ohio’s Hospice LifeCare to expand our volunteer services, the Pathways of HopeSM Grief Counseling Center, and our Mobile Care Unit transportation hub of service and support.

In March 2021, Ohio’s Hospice LifeCare launched a $2.5 million campaign to establish the center, repurposing an existing building on the Akron Road campus in Wooster.

Since 1982, we have had the honor and privilege to care for those in our community as they face a life-limiting illness or injury. Our care team of physicians, nurses, personal care specialists, chaplains, social workers, bereavement counseling professionals, and volunteers support around-the-clock care for more patients and families than ever before.

The Center for Supportive Care will provide more individual and group counseling rooms for our Pathways of Hope Grief Counseling Center, a larger gathering space for training and seminars for both volunteers and the community, office space, and garages built for our Mobile Care Unit transportation hub of service and support.

In partnership with Bogner Corporation and many local contractors who made the transformation complete, we look forward to sharing this building with the community as Ohio’s Hospice LifeCare celebrates its 40th anniversary.

We look forward to announcing a dedication and community open house later this spring. This will be announced on our website and social media.
